About Kaitlin and afin applications

Afin Applications was officially created the winter of 2017 to focus Kaitlin's immense passion for creativity. Combining her fine art and cosmetic talents, Afin Applications aspires to be an interdisciplinary blend of aesthetics, and visual art that is easily accessible.
​
Kaitlin Serafin is a painter, new media artist, certified nail technician and professional makeup artist. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2014 with honours from UBC Okanagan. Afterwards, knowing that her artistic self had more to offer, Kaitlin pursued her Professional Makeup Certification from Artists Within Makeup Academy, Calgary AB in 2016 and her Nail Technician Certification from Nail Techniques, Kelowna BC in 2017.

Kaitlin loves to be involved in the special events of her clients. Collaborating with bridal parties, and school graduates, Kaitlin loves helping people achieve a fresh look for important occasions in their lives; as she prides herself in traditional and avant-garde makeup application and gel nail enhancements.
When producing Fine Art she specializes in acrylic painting and digital composition, as well as mixed media, large-scale drawings and collage. Interested in the themes of consumerism, pop art, environmental conservation, illustration and graphic design; Kaitlin's work explores the boundaries between old and contemporary art practises. Kaitlin seeks to understand the relationship of the animals and nature she loves with the technological world within the imagery she generates.
